Resources for Residents
As part of this recovery effort, the Public Advocate’s office has produced a series of documents to help New Yorkers navigate the different types of available disaster assistance. Regardless of whether you had flood damage, power loss, or saw a decrease in income because of the storm, you may be eligible for help.

HOT MEAL DELIVERY RELIEF @ GREENPOINT SOUP KITCHEN!!!
Ann is coordinating hot meal delivery for Sandy Relief in connection with the Greenpoint Soup Kitchen & Hunger Program & CM Levin’s office. The Greenpoint Soup Kitchen typically serves one hot meal to 100 people and gives out 400 bags in an average week. Right now they are making crazy amounts of donation boxes (of non-perishable foods) and making meals for 250 per day (M-Th). In her words —there is no end to the amount of hot food they need in the affected areas.
Main Greenpoint Kitchen — 136 Milton St @ Greenpoint Reformed Church. Volunteer kitchen work is running 11-3pm Mon - Thurs (and maybe on Saturdays & Sundays).
Ann has a master list of places where you can drop off hot food to be distributed. She will be making daily deliverise of hot food (M-TH) to Occupy Sandy headquarters @ 520 Clinton. They they send it out to whatever site needs food that night. She will be leaving Greenpoint at 1pm and is willing to pick up hot food donations on her way. There is a big meat delivery coming from the food bank and she will need help cooking up that meat.
Need butter & oil
Take-out containers (This is to get hot food to those stuck in their apartments — mostly seniors.)
Contact ann if you want to help with some hot food direct action.
